The Dennis Sutton Golf Tournament raises funds for two causes that Dennis felt strongly about and was involved with while he was alive. All of us who knew Dennis realize what a generous, caring man he was. He had an incredibly positive effect on everyone who knew him and was always willing to lend a helping hand. In keeping with his spirit of giving, we will be giving all proceeds from our Tournament and from our Silent and Live auctions to both The UM Miller School of Medicine’s Center for Liver Diseases along with a scholarship fund which has been set up in Memory of Dennis for the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County.
Dennis served on the board of the Marti Huizenga branch of the Boys and Girls Club and believed strongly in their mission to help young people improve their lives by building self-esteem and developing values
The UM Miller School of Medicine’s Center for Liver Diseases has a world renowned reputation for advancing the science and practice of hepatology and providing the highest level of clinical management, education and research programs. More than 27,000 Americans die from liver related diseases and cirrhosis every year. It is critical that the CFLD continues to advance research to develop improved treatments, avoid transplantations and ultimately find a cure.
Since 2007, The Dennis Sutton Memorial Golf Tournament has raised over $150,000. Our Funds help the Boys & Girls Clubs “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens”. We are also happy to help the UM maintain their position of being at the forefront of the development of new drugs, therapies and diagnostic tests for all forms of liver diseases and to ultimately find a cure.
